Psychologically Informed Practitioner (PiP) Training Program

Module 1 - Foundations of Effective Classroom Behavior Management

Module 1 is the foundational course in an 8-module accreditation program designed to certify teachers in psychologically informed classroom practice. The program equips educators with evidence-based strategies grounded in behavioral, social, humanistic, attachment, and cognitive-behavioral psychology. This module establishes the theoretical framework that supports the full certification pathway and prepares learners for deeper application in subsequent modules.

The Challenge

The client, a licensed psychologist, needed to transform academically rigorous content into an engaging, structured eLearning experience suitable for practicing teachers.

Key challenges included:

  • Translating complex psychological theory into accessible classroom application

  • Maintaining academic credibility while avoiding cognitive overload

  • Designing a clear instructional progression for the first module in a paid accreditation series

  • Aligning the course visually with the client’s bold, established brand identity

  • Creating multimedia elements that enhanced — rather than distracted from — the learning

Because this was Module 1, it needed to build trust, establish authority, and set the tone for the entire certification experience.

The Solution

I designed a structured, interactive learning experience that scaffolds psychological theory into practical classroom strategies.

The module intentionally progresses through:

  • Behavioral Psychology (ABC model, reinforcement, functions of behavior)

  • Social Learning Theory

  • Humanistic Psychology (Maslow’s hierarchy)

  • Attachment Theory

  • Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology

Each section includes knowledge checks and applied scenarios to reinforce understanding and promote retention.

To strengthen learner engagement and brand alignment, I:

  • Applied the client’s bold brand palette consistently across the UI

  • Created multiple VYOND avatar options and collaborated with the client to select the final character

  • Incorporated animated transitions to guide learners through theoretical content and maintain engagement.

  • Designed interactive checkpoints to encourage reflection and application

The result is a balanced, academically grounded module that connects theory directly to classroom practice.

My Role

  • Translated SME content into structured instructional flow

  • Designed knowledge checks and applied scenarios

  • Developed the full module in Articulate Storyline

  • Created and integrated VYOND animated segments

  • Applied brand guidelines across all visual assets

  • Collaborated iteratively with the client to preserve theoretical accuracy

Note: While the interactive module focuses on foundations, the full accreditation program spans eight modules. To respect client privacy, I’ve curated these highlights from the complete series to show the progression from behavioral basics to advanced neurodiverse support.
